Update on Highway 417 Widening Project

The OECA has spoken with representatives from the Ministry of Transportation regarding the closure of the Lees Avenue on-ramp (eastbound) due to the widening of Highway 417 (the Queensway). We have been advised that the on-ramp will not be closed until spring 2013. The delay is a result of the ministry’s decision to combine the widening project with the city’s light rail eastward expansion, and therefore one contractor will be selected for the combined job.
