Public Workshop on Proposed New Oblates Park – June 2

A public workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 2, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. to discuss the proposed new park at 175 Main Street (Oblates Park). The workshop will be held in the gymnasium of Lady Evelyn Alternative School on Evelyn Avenue. There will be no formal presentation; rather, at the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to drop-in, view and provide feedback on conceptual design options for the future park.

The City of Ottawa is also seeking feedback on the proposed Principles for Park Design and the types of amenities people would like to see in the park. The principles will be used both to help develop alternative designs for the future park space and to evaluate designs. Feedback on amenities will help determine what features are most important for the park. A list of amenities in the surrounding existing parks is also available for reference. Feedback is requested by the city by Friday, May 22. Emails can be sent to Selma.Hassan@ottawa.ca.

The OOECA has already begun compiling community input on the proposed new park. A summary is available here.
