The Parks and Greenspace Committee recognizes the importance of greenspace to the quality of life of OOE residents, especially in the context of municipal and provincial intensification efforts, and works with partners, the city and councillor to:

  • Optimize natural elements and park amenities for public enjoyment and recreation in these areas.
  • Partner with the councillor, city, and municipal representatives to make people-centered and community-informed decisions to improve the accessibility, sustainability, and safety of our parks and greenspace.
  • Preserve and enhance existing community-accessible parks and greenspaces in OOE.
  • Increase the availability in OOE of community-accessible parks and greenspaces.
  • Act as stewards of our parks and greenspace, participating in the City’s Adopt-a-park program and Clean the Capital campaign.
