Remediation work at Springhurst Park – September 15-18

The City of Ottawa’s Environmental Remediation Unit will be working at Springhurst Park from Tuesday, September 15 to Friday, September 18, 2015. The work will involve the collection of shallow soil conditions across the site using two types of equipment. In some locations a backhoe with a bucket will dig small pits to allow for inspection and sampling of the soil. In other locations a post-hole auger will be used to drill a small hole to collect soil samples. All pits and holes will be filled immediately after inspection, compacted with the bucket, and then reseeded. Work will be confined to normal business hours.
