Remembrance Ceremony at Brantwood Gates – November 10, 2013

The Royal Canadian Legion (Strathcona Branch 595) and residents of Old Ottawa East welcome all Ottawans to join MP Paul Dewar, MPP Yasir Naqvi, Councillor David Chernushenko and other dignitaries, as well as representatives from Ottawa’s first-responders: Ottawa Police Services, Ottawa Paramedics and Ottawa Firefighters, to the annual Remembrance Ceremony at Brantwood Gates. There will be an Honour Guard Parade down Main Street and laying of wreaths at Brantwood Gates.

The gates to Brantwood Place were dedicated to the memory of the war dead of the First and Second World Wars. The text on the plaque mounted on the gates reads:
“Brantwood Place. To the memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice and to the honour and glory of those men and women who served in the Armed Forces, 1914-1918, 1939-1945. Praise can add nothing to their gallant worth.”
