1.     FCA-FAC General Meeting – Wednesday, April 15 – Rural issues

The next FCA-FAC General Meeting will be hosted by the Greely Community Association on Wednesday April 15, in person, at the Greely Community Centre, 1448 Meadow Dr, Greely, ON K4P 1B1, on the theme of rural issues. 

2. Message from the FCA Chair – Call for board members

The FCA Annual Meeting is barely two months away on June 17 and will mark the start of a new cycle, with a newly elected Board. If you wish to play a role in the management of the activities and affairs of the FCA, please consider standing for election to the Board.

Our Nominations Committee is currently active in seeking candidates – Contact nominations@fca-fac.ca if interested. 

3. FCA comment to Planning & Housing Committee on inclusionary zoning 

On April 1, Planning & Housing Committee dealt with inclusionary zoning and with the role of the design review panel. Consult FCA comments to staff prior to deliberation: 

4. NCC master plan for National Capital Greenbelt

The National Capital Commission is reviewing its master plan for the National Capital Greenbelt and the project was launched with an “urbanism lab” event on March 25. Project description:

Two urban design guidelines are expected to come forward toward the end of April

6. FCA Planning and Zoning Committee

The FCA Planning and Zoning Committee will be looking into Task teams on 15-minute neighbourhoods, growth management and infrastructure and As-of-right variances:

7. Build Canada Homes – City agreement with Federal government

The City’s agreement with Building Canada Homes is to come before Committee on April 10 regarding housing development on federal lands.

8. FCA External Relations discussions with City – 2013 Public Engagement Strategy

The FCA External Relations Committee has held discussions with the City regarding the renewal and reaffirmation of the 2013 Public Engagement Strategy. A memorandum to Council on the project was issued April 1 containing links to related documents including a “What we learned” report:

9.  FCA presentation on 10-year Housing and Homelessness Plan

FCA made a presentation on the 10-year Housing and Homelessness Plan on March 24 before the Joint Committee hearing in which we note our eagerness to see their first annual workplan with actual tasks, budgets and responsibilities
