_____________

City Staff yesterday unexpectedly announced they are releasing early their report on the Community Garden Action Plan & Green Initiatives on City Land at Engage Ottawa on April 9:

https://engage.ottawa.ca/community-gardens-and-community-led-green-initiatives

This is a complex plan that will govern what we can do for years to come, and it is unclear what the scope of this report will include. Just over 1 week later (which includes a busy  Easter long weekend), it goes to the Community Services Committee on April 22 for decision.

City residents will have a very narrow window to review the report, figure out what we want to do, contact our councilors, and prepare any delegations that we will want to present at the committee meeting to change things.

A Plant Strategy Working Group has been struck under the People Official Plan Coalition and will be hosting a critical Resident Meeting on April 10 to discuss community response to this plan.
