Time
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The city will be hosting its first Walk‑Up Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event on Sunday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brewer Park parking lot, 100 Brewer Way at Sloan Avenue.
This event is part of a pilot initiative approved by Council and is designed to improve access to HHW events for residents without a vehicle. Residents will be able to drop off small quantities of household hazardous waste by walking, cycling, or using a mobility device.
Important notes about this special event
- Walk‑up events have a strict limit of 20 litres per resident
- Vehicles are not permitted – Anyone arriving by car will be redirected to a regular HHW event
- Electronic waste is NOT accepted
- A list of regular HHW drop‑off events is available at Ottawa.ca/HHW
Walk-up events are intentionally smaller and more community‑specific than regular HHW collection days. To support safe operations and prevent overcrowding, promotion is being kept local, aimed at nearby residents rather than citywide advertising.
