Old Ottawa East Hosers hockey team, champions of the 2025 Capital Ward Cup

OOE Hosers win Capital Ward Cup for 3rd straight year!

The Capital Ward Cup took place this past Saturday at the Mutchmor Rink in the Glebe, thanks to the great organization of Councillor Menard and his staff, Miles Krauter who calmly officiated 6 back-to-back games, and Hannah Tellier.

All 4 Capital Ward communities participated once again in this year’s cup, with fans remarking that games were competitive, fast, and skilled.

In head to head matches, the Old Ottawa East Hosers defeated Heron Park 9-5 and Glebe 11-3, with the Old Ottawa South Moose defeating the Glebe 9-6, and Heron Park 6-5 to advance to the final.

In the final, the OOE Hosers defeated the OOS Moose 7 to 3 to become Capital Ward Cup champions for the 3rd straight year, a hat trick of wins for this dynasty-making team.

Since Clive Doucet started the tournament in 2008, OOE has won the cup 9 times, OOS 5 times, and the Glebe once. The cup took a pause for 2 years during COVID, and in 2018.
