Council on aging luncheon

I attended the annual luncheon for the Council on Aging, Adrienne Clarkson (former Governor General) was the guest speaker.

At age 86, Ms. Clarkson gave a lively & thoughtful perspective on aging. A couple of quotes; ‘old age is a second career ‘. ‘The world would be better if everyone was aware of their mortality’

Meeting with Seniors’ Health Innovation Hub (SHIH)

On May 5th I met with Margaret Tansey & Pat Eakins, members of the steering committee for SHIH.  Their team is doing much needed work to assist older adults in the capital ward.

On June 18, SHIH will be cohosting a presentation with Councillor Menard’s office entitled, ‘Finding solutions for primary care for older adults’.

You can find updates from SHIH online at SeniorsHealthInnovationHub.com.

SHIH also recommended a new website, AccessCSS.ca to access all the available support services in Eastern Ontario.
