Sisters’ convent site – Next steps (See April Mainstreeter)
- April issue of The Mainstreeter details the next steps and timing in the rebuild at 15-17 Des Oblats.
- Info based on two phone interviews in mid-March with VP of Forum Asset Management.
- Main points next step is drilling of over 30 bore holes for geothermal energy:
- Target move-in date of Spring 2027.
- Morley Hoppner will be the site construction manager, the same firm Regional used in that role.
Site activity
- Large sections of wood hoarding have been removed on south side, replaced by about 20 metres of removable chain link sections, presumably to ease access for large vehicles.
- The ‘Sisters’ maple tree at south-west corner has a new protective fence; a few lilac bushes have been cut down.
- All trees at the north-west corner have been cut and shredded leaving just the Mary statue.
Lees Avenue
- I renewed contact with Carolyn Clouthier of 170 Lees, informing her of recent good news re: Peoples’ Park.
- Similar call to 190 Lees was comedic but frustrating.
