A Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, to provide stakeholders and the public with an opportunity to review
and comment on the proposed design, anticipated and potential environmental effects, and proposed mitigation for the replacement of the Highway 417 Nicholas Street Underpass. The PIC will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Normandin Room at Saint Paul University, 223 Main Street. You are also invited to attend a one hour advanced session scheduled from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm where members of the project team will be available at the PIC to discuss the project and answer any questions you may have. Following the PIC, digital copies of the PIC display materials will be posted to the project website.
The scope of the work includes:
– Full replacement of the existing bridge on a new alignment immediately west of the existing bridge;
– Re-alignment of the associated interchange ramps (specifically, ramps in the northwest and southwest quadrants) as required by the new bridge
– Short extension of the fourth Highway 417 through lanes in each direction, to just west of the Nicholas Street Underpass; and
– Construction of related works, including drainage, illumination, and roadside protection barriers
