Temporary pathway closure behind University of Ottawa Lees Campus/Hurdman Bridge
As part of the Highway 417 expansion project, the City of Ottawa is removing the outside highway lane and structure of Hurdman Bridge. Crews have begun work on the north side of the bridge, working from west to east. During this demolition work the multi-use pathways along both sides of Rideau River under Highway 417 (Hurdman Bridge) are required to be closed to maintain the safety of pedestrians and cyclists as these areas are within the construction zone.
The pathway on the west side of the Rideau River should reopen in early November, however, these dates are always subject to change due to the nature of construction projects. The pathway on the east side of Rideau River will close on October 28 for two weeks, and again in late November. The city plans to provide advance notification.
