Traffic Advisory for Colonel By Drive beginning September 23

Rehabilitation work to the retaining walls located along Colonel By Drive, between Echo Drive near Bank Street and Clegg Street, will begin Monday, September 23, 2013. This work will continue until the end of November 2013. During the work period, the lanes of Colonel By Drive, in both directions, will be narrowed at all times. Traffic cones and directional signage will be on site to direct traffic and to ensure worker safety. There may also be temporary closures of the northbound lane, outside peak hours and without advanced notice, to facilitate the movement of equipment for the work. When required, flag persons will be on-site to ensure the safety of motorists. The National Capital Commission (NCC) urges motorists to respect signage to ensure their safety. Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to continue to use the Rideau Canal Recreational Pathway during the work.
